FAQ

Curious? Good, so are we.

If I am not a student at the university can I still attend?

Yes! This is an event open to the public, all young people aged 17-35 are welcome to attend.

---

Is this event just for Buddhists?

No! The monastics come from the Buddhist tradition, but these mindfulness practices are universal and applicable to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation.

---

I'm over 35, can I still attend?

These events are specifically designed for students, university staff, and young people 35 and under. For those over 35, we encourage you to attend our many mindfulness events throughout the year at one of our practice centers: Blue Cliff Monastery in upstate New York: Blue Cliff website; Deer Park Monastery, Escondido, CA: Deer Park website; or Magnolia Grove in Batesville, MS: Magnolia Grove website. You can also find a directory of local groups of practice (Sanghas) in the US on the Mindfulness Bell website.

---

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Nothing is required other than an open mind. If you have a meditation cushion please feel free to bring it along, but this isn't required.

---

I've never meditated before, is that okay?

Definitely. All experiences are welcome.

---

I can only stay for part of the day, is that okay?

Please arrive on time, and if you need to leave early that's okay. Experience has shown us, however, that once you start you may not want to stop...so don't plan anything too important afterwards :-)

---

I'm not sure if I can attend, should I still register?

Yes, by registering we will ensure your spot at the event. If you end up not being able to make it, let us know and we'll open your spot for someone else.

---

I don't see my question here...

Not to worry; please email us at wakeup@dpmail.net and we'll be happy to respond
