"Sitting is Peace"
Come and join Buddhist monks, nuns and experienced lay practitioners together with an eclectic mix of strangers for 30 minutes of silent sitting, enjoying peace and togetherness in public spaces.
We come together not to demand peace, or justice, or anything else, but to celebrate our very real capacity to generate peace, already, in the here and now. This is the peace we offer to our cities and to the world. The world is thirsty for peace, and we can contribute it. Generating peace and love in our hearts gives us the clarity and energy we need in order to act wisely and skilfully to improve the situation - in our relationships, our society and the world.
There is no sitting for peace, sitting is peace.
And we do not sit alone: Wake Up groups across the world organize sitting and walking in peace.
